HOW TO ORDER
PICK A COLOR
You can mix and match any colors you'd like, but start with one color at a time.
PICK A STYLE
Next, you'll see the option to choose a style. There are several different styles, including dreadlock styles and accent sets, and you can mix and match ANY of these when building your set. Remember that each pack only comes with 5 pieces, and you'll typically need around 9-12 packs for a full set.
PICK A LENGTH
After you pick a style, you can finish up by choosing a length. We have 4 different length options.
ADD TO CART
Once you do that, you can add the pack to your cart. Again, remember this is only a pack of 5. You'll need 9-12 packs for a full set or full head. You can go back and choose more colors and different styles to fully customize your set.

About Dreadlock Extensions.
There are many different types of dreadlock extensions, and many different methods used to make them. At Hippie Cowgirl Dreads, we make synthetic dreadlock extensions that are made with the twist and seal method, and they just braid into your natural hair. These can stay in your hair for up to 6-8 weeks with a good install, and can then be reused forever.
We use Henlon for our synthetic hair, which is a high quality fiber that has no chemical coating, and has more of a human hair look and feel to it. Most other synthetic dreadlock extensions are made with basic Kanekalon (or Barbie hair), which does have a chemical coating and needs to be detoxed. This type of hair can also be rough on your scalp, unlike the Henlon that we use.
Dreadlock extensions are a protective hairstyle and will do wonders for the health of your natural hair. They should never cause any damage and in most cases, help your hair to grow longer, thicker, and healthier overtime.
1
Maintenance
The good news about dreadlock extensions is that they hardly require any maintenance. Just separate your dreadlocks once a day by running your fingers through each strand. If you have wavy dreadlocks, we recommend using a conditioning oil and separating them one by one (at least until they are fully matured). You can also add oil to your scalp to prevent or treat any dryness. As far as washing, you can wash your dreadlocks as often or as little as you'd like, with any type of shampoo - just don't use conditioner.
2
The Maturing Process
All dreadlocks go through a maturing process. This is the process in which your dreadlocks are permanently dreading themselves into place. With the twist and seal method that we use to make our dreadlock extensions, you may notice them expanding or thickening slightly, and this is normal. Overtime, they will tighten up and that maturing process will be complete.
3
Aftercare
When it's time to take your dreadlock extensions out, you'll want to give them a nice deep clean. Just soak them in the sink with warm water and any shampoo for about 20 minutes, then rinse and let them dry before reinstalling.
You'll also notice that when you brush your hair out after taking your dreads out, you'll lose quite a bit of hair - this is normal. We naturally lose 50-100 strands of hair per day, so when your dreads are in, that hair that is being shed has nowhere to go. The hair that comes out is just that hair that you naturally shed throughout the time your dreadlocks were in.
